Dear Church Family, Thank you for making Shiloh Hills Fellowship your church! And thank you for your prayers and patience as the Elders and Staff have prayed for wisdom and discernment through this very challenging season. As you know by now, we will be meeting for in-person services beginning Sunday, September 6. But that’s not the only exciting news. Because of the continued faithful giving of our members and regular attenders, as well as the cost-saving measures and good stewardship of our staff, the Elders are delighted to announce the mortgage on the church building will be paid-in-full next month! What a tremendous answer to our prayers! Furthermore, not only are we able to pay the mortgage in full, but we also have the funds necessary to make some very-needed updates and complete some small renovation efforts to our Worship Center. These updates will provide Shiloh Hills Fellowship with the ability to capably live-stream the messages every Sunday morning. You may ask why having the ability to live stream is so important. Well, we realize there is, for numerous reasons, a growing segment of our church body who will not be able to rejoin us in-person. Whether they are home-bound, immune-compromised, or simply can’t attend without childcare, the Elders and Staff believe we should do what we can to ensure this group of people remains connected to Shiloh Hills. The planned updates to the Worship Center will allow us to minister to them in ways that we’ve never had the capabilities before. We are grateful to have the financial provisions for these updates! As we look at our reopening efforts, we know it can’t happen without your involvement. So, not only do we need volunteers to help with the various duties required for reopening on Sunday morning, but we also need others to participate by using some of their skills to paint or assist with other modest renovation efforts. We are asking those who are willing and able, to contact the church via email at office@shfspokane.org or by calling the office at(509) 467-9380. It is your church! Let’s make this happen together! We are excited by what the Lord is doing. We are looking forward to what He has for us in the future. Again, thank you for making Shiloh Hills Fellowship your church. If you have any questions or would like to speak with an Elder for any reason, please contact the church office via email or phone. Thank you, Your Elders MARCH 14, 2020 UPDATE
Dear Shiloh Hills Family, Greetings! We hope this note finds you in good health and good spirits. In light of several recent developments, as your Elders, we felt as though we needed to reach out to address the ever-changing situation in our community. It is the desire of your Elders and Pastoral Staff to care for the SHF congregation in every respect, including the physical well-being of our community. To that end, we are asking everyone to take the necessary precautions to keep yourself and others healthy, especially in light of recent developments with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Like you, we have been following this quickly changing situation. The Spokane Regional Health District has directed that all gatherings of greater than 250 people be curtailed immediately to slow the spread of the virus. We have been running 300-350 attendees on Sunday mornings. The elders met Friday night, and in light of the health department directive, we will be canceling Sunday morning activities on Sunday, March 15, 2020. This includes Sunday School and the morning service. In the meanwhile, all other church activities will continue for the time being. This includes Growth Groups, Kids Club, Youth Group, outside groups using the church, etc. We will determine over the next week how services will look after this Sunday. We simply do not have time to determine all that before tomorrow morning. We will let you know as soon as possible what to expect next weekend. Please pass this information on to anyone who does not have internet access. While we cannot control the virus, the spread, or the impact it has on our church, we are taking the necessary cleaning precautions to ensure as safe an environment as possible. We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to help us do just that. Therefore, we are asking everyone to participate in the prevention of the spread of the virus in the following ways:
To find up-to-date information regarding COVID-19, please visit the websites of the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The uncertainty of this outbreak has the potential of creating anxiety in our workplaces, schools, places of worship, and our day-to-day living. Yet we remain sure of God’s steadfast presence and careful attention to all that is happening. Please join us in praying for those who are affected by this illness, as well as their caregivers and those who are working tirelessly to minimize the impact of this virus. Please let us know if we can be of any assistance to you. Thank you again for calling Shiloh Hills Fellowship your home. In His Service, The Elders of SHF MARCH 17, 2020 UPDATE
Dear Shiloh Hills Family, Based on guidance from the federal government, and state and local officials, the elders have decided to suspend all church meetings for the next 14 days, starting at 11:59 PM March 17 until April 1st. We will not have on-campus services or classes on Sunday. The last week of Growth Groups will be canceled. All outside groups will discontinue meetings as well. We have not taken this decision lightly, but want to support all the health authorities’ decisions to help in slowing this pandemic. Our pastoral staff is diligently preparing a plan for this Sunday and beyond that will include online Sunday Service, continuing with our current series. Our Kids Ministry is working on curriculum and lessons as well. We will have links for the Sunday Service in the usual places (see below) and will let you know when they are available. There are four ways to stay informed about any changes:
Please keep in mind that things could change at any time based on the best available information we have, so check back often! Be on the lookout for further information that will be coming out from our pastors regarding suggestions for how to maintain your spiritual life during this time and how you may be able to help your neighbors. Give particular attention to the older people in our midst who are most at risk. While you may not be at risk, someone else could be. You can pass it on even if you do not exhibit any symptoms. We also ask those who are over 60 and those who have compromised health to stay home. If you need groceries or anything else, please call the Church Office and our deacons will be happy to help. During this time without meeting, we are holding the line on spending, but we do continue to have needs. We are making minimum payments wherever possible. You can still give your tithes and offerings during this time by giving online on the website, or by mailing a check to the Church Office. Please continue to pray for us as we navigate uncharted territories. In His Service, The Elders of SHF |
How to Stay InformedAs the news is ever-changing, we want to do our best to keep you as informed as possible about the changes to the ministry of Shiloh. At this current time, there will be no on-site activities until further notice.
