About ThomasGROWING UP
Thomas was born and raised in The Bronx, NY, graduating from Wings Academy High School. He has a B.R.E. in Pastoral Studies from Davis College, an M.Div. from Baptist Bible Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in New Testament through Clarks Summit University.
Thomas did not grow up in a saved home, but ultimately started going to church after being invited by some friends and surrendered his life to Christ his freshman year of high school. Coming out to Spokane in 2015 to work with Moody Bible Institute's Spokane campus, Thomas and his family moved to the PNW from Pennsylvania. He became the Assistant Dean of Student Engagements and an Adjunct Professor.
FALLING IN LOVE
Thomas met the love of his life, Ruth, in 2007 at Davis College. They dated, and were married in August of 2010 in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. They have two beautiful children, a daughter and a son.
JUST FOR FUN
Thomas and Ruth enjoy trying new foods, watching football, and spending time with their children, be it watching movies, playing at the park, experiencing new adventures, or even just singing silly songs together.
Joining the TeamLED TO SHILOH
Through mutual connections between Shiloh and Moody, Thomas was given the opportunity to preach on several occasions for the church. He applied for the position of Lead Pastor and was affirmed with a 98% congregational vote in February of 2018.
THE ULTIMATE GOAL
"I want to help people know and experience the love of God. I see the story of Jesus being one of reconciliation; God sending Jesus to die for people so that our relationship could be restored. I want people to understand and experience that kind of sacrificial love," Thomas said.
"Being called to Pastor this church is truly a humbling honor by God. In this position, I want to clearly communicate the Bible so that people can understand who God is and why He loves us. What drives me is the concept of biblical reconciliation. By this I mean the process of helping restore broken relationships and systems that reflect God’s original intention."
